To demonstrate Meta’s commitment to small businesses and to the economic lifeblood they bring to their communities, we chose to tell the story of small business owner Tom Mulholland.
Working with Academy Award-winning director Rayka Zehtabchi -- who brought an incredible amount of craft, sensitivity, and sophistication to the project -- I executive produced this short film which focuses on how Tom saves his small Iowa town from collapse after his grocery store is ravaged by fire.
Not only does the aftermath of Tom’s tragedy shake the stability of the town, it points to the importance of local grocery stores; the fragility of small town America; and what it means to serve the greater good.
